AMDG Architects is proud to congratulate Peter Baldwin, President and Principal, on his recent recognition by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business as one of the 2026 Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering & Construction. The distinction honors senior leaders across West Michigan who have demonstrated significant impact within their organizations and their communities.
Nearly three decades after joining AMDG as partner, Peter has helped grow AMDG from a 2-person office into a multidisciplinary practice of almost 30 professionals offering architecture, interior design, and landscape design services. Today, the firm is guided by the same relational design philosophy that has defined Peter’s career from the start: to use gifts and talents in the service of others.
In 2025, Peter led AMDG through a strategic ownership transition with the Stonewall Group, aligning the firm with other niche regional design practices nationwide. True to form, he approached the transition with continuity at the center of every decision: protecting AMDG’s culture, setting the firm up for sustainable long-term growth, and creating space for the next generation of leaders to carry AMDG’s legacy forward.
Peter’s commitment to service reaches well beyond AMDG’s studio walls. He serves on the board of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and holds advisory roles with San Juan Diego Academy, the Shrine of Saint Francis Xavier and Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Grand Rapids Catholic Central. He and his wife, Michelle, have been married 38 years and are parents of seven, grandparents of three. They are also longtime members of Legatus, a national community of Catholic business leaders dedicated to integrating faith and professional life.
Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering & Construction 2026
Congratulations, Peter! Thank you for your leadership, vision, and the heart you bring to AMDG every day. We’re grateful to serve alongside you.
