a community-centered hub for dynamic wellness and family recreation
The 96,000-square-foot, two-story MVP Sportsplex facility encapsulates the client’s vision for creating a dynamic wellness experience while reflecting the unique health and fitness brand of MVP Sports Clubs. Executed in collaboration with Ohlson Lavoie Collaborative (OLC) and Wolverine Building Group, the facility integrates athletics, aquatics, and wellness programming into a cohesive environment tailored for family-friendly recreation.
The architectural centerpiece, a barrel vault entry, greets visitors with expansive glass views and engaging signage, reflecting the vibrant activities within. The interior organizes functional spaces to provide a seamless experience, from state-of-the-art indoor pools to expansive group fitness studios and personal training areas. The outdoor aquatics center includes a competitive pool, water slide, and children’s splash area, ensuring opportunities for all age groups to engage. Spa-quality locker rooms and recreation spaces were integrated into the design for ultimate comfort and luxury.
A major hurdle in this project was overcoming the rezoning challenges. AMDG Architects worked closely with neighbors and municipal stakeholders to ensure a design that complemented community needs, resulting in an amicable and effective rezoning process. This sensitivity to local concerns, paired with innovative programming, created a facility celebrated by its users and the surrounding community.
Collaboration played a pivotal role in the project’s success. Building on past partnerships, AMDG and OLC, delivered a cutting-edge aquatic and fitness environment. Wolverine Building Group ensured the project was completed on time and within budget, emphasizing teamwork across disciplines.
The MVP Sportsplex provides a holistic fitness experience, combining athletics, wellness, and family recreation. It stands as a testament to the impact of thoughtful design and collaboration, offering a space for health, fitness, and connection under one roof.
