Partnering with the owner of an aging medical office building in Grand Rapids, AMDG helped rethink and redesign the space, transforming it into a modern workplace for a local private equity and investment firm. Spanning 13,500 square feet, the project included a comprehensive redesign of the common lobby and new building entry, private offices, meeting rooms, a sophisticated boardroom, staff breakroom and adaptable spaces to accommodate future growth. Providing expertise in innovative workplace architecture and interior design, AMDG helped ensure that the building now serves as an optimal environment for both employees and clients.
The renovated space supplies a welcoming, refreshed, and professional atmosphere. Natural materials, such as wood veneer, were introduced throughout the lobby, boardroom and other meeting spaces, emphasizing warmth and comfort alongside sleek, contemporary design elements. This fusion of comfort and function established an inviting environment that invigorates both client interactions and employee engagement. The revitalized exterior also provides a fresh, modern aesthetic that mirrors the firm’s vision and commitment to growth.
Converting the decades-old building that formerly served as a medical office into a modern corporate workplace posed several challenges. Working collaboratively with Pioneer Construction, AMDG navigated the project’s complexity by strategically phasing the renovation and designing cost-effective solutions to ensure sections of the building could remain operational during construction, minimizing business disruptions.
Originally built over 30 years ago, the exterior and interior renovated building now marks a new chapter in its history by housing the firm’s luxurious corporate offices. Through seamless collaboration and a client-centered process, AMDG was able to honor the building’s legacy, delivering an optimal design solution that aligns with the firm’s goals of sophistication and adaptability.
