When Cornerstone Trust saw the opportunity to expand into an adjacent suite, they envisioned more than additional office space—they imagined a place where growth, collaboration, and community could flourish. AMDG architects kicked off the project, engaging the client in benchmarking tours and providing early space planning and schematic layouts. The project was then passed to AMDG’s in-house interior design team for their expertise on how space could honor immediate needs as well as a broader mission.
Through in-depth programming sessions, AMDG worked closely with the Cornerstone Trust team to deeply understand how they used their existing space, and how they aspired to grow. A flexible “suite of spaces” approach emerged, where private offices could easily double as collaborative enclaves or meeting rooms could morph into private offices as the team continued to grow. Meanwhile, a new large gathering area, equipped with immersive technology, invites the entire team—whether local or remote—to connect in meaningful ways.
The interior of their newly renovated space artfully balances comfort, flexibility, and professionalism. Maximizing river views through intentional space planning, AMDG partnered with West Michigan Office to curate varied furniture groupings, complemented by layered material selections, and artwork to create a space both inviting and inspiring. Subtle nods to brand identity—blue accents woven into fabrics and finishes, along with a sculptural metal world map—celebrate Cornerstone Trust’s brand and global mission in an authentic way.
Collaboration was at the heart of the project’s success. Working closely with the Cornerstone Trust team, Visser Brothers, Inc., West Michigan Office, and the client’s technology partners, every design element was seamlessly integrated into the final environment. Today, Cornerstone Trust’s expanded suite is a vibrant, future-ready environment where their team and mission can thrive.
