A Northern Michigan home custom designed by AMDG Architects was recently featured in two magazines – Michigan Home and Lifestyle and Great Lakes by Design. The Bay Harbor residence was inspired by the architecture of Honfleur, France, a city dating back to the 11th century located in the Normandy region.
For this lakefront retreat, the landscape and the natural world served as a central theme, defining space and place as a timeless celebration of architecture, beauty, art, and personal expression. Drawing on the French Norman Style, a rich vernacular that evokes its regional countryside and enduring architectural elements, the home is a thoughtful interpretation for its landscape.
