September 2nd marked a milestone for the Jackson Hole Classical Academy community (JHCA), AMDG Architects, and a vast team of industry partners and consultants as we celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of JHCA’s new 75,000 sq ft school building, beautifully located at the base of the Teton Mountains in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Honored by a relationship that began over four years ago, AMDG has had the privilege of supporting the Academy through master planning their 80-acre campus and collaborating on projects ranging from the entry gate to athletic fields—and now, this new home for mission-driven, classical liberal arts instruction for Kindergarten through 12th grade students.
Paying homage to founders Polly, Steve, Lynn, and the late Foster Freiss, the school reflects the Academy’s mission and vision through timeless design and thoughtful spaces that will shape classical learning and instruction and allow the next generation to flourish.
The project’s design draws inspiration from the Academy’s core values, integrating natural materials and craftsmanship that harmonize with the surrounding mountain landscape. Every detail, from the campus entry to interior learning spaces, was guided by a shared desire to create an environment that cultivates wisdom, community, and joy.
We are grateful for the trust placed in us and inspired by the collaboration that made this possible. Special thanks to Jackson Hole Classical Academy, Wember, DPR Construction, and the many consultants who contributed their gifts and talents to the success of this project.
The Jackson Hole Classical Academy campus embodies AMDG’s belief that architecture should reflect both mission and place. Through collaboration and craftsmanship, the project captures the Academy’s classical values while celebrating its extraordinary setting in Jackson Hole.
