Building Hope

The AMDG Project Benjamin’s Hope was featured in the West MI design magazine Great Lakes By Design. Read this article to learn more about the story and inspiration behind Benjamin’s Hope, an intentional community in which people of all abilities are able to live, work, play, and worship.

Benjamin Mason, whose parents were inspired to create an environment that is both enriching and supportive for their son who has autism. Ultimately the project Benjamin’s Hope, directed by Krista Mason, has turned into a residential community which fully supports living, worship, and daily activities.
The vision for a worship center and gathering space trace back to early conversations, when Krista sat down with our AMDG design team and began collaboratively refining her vision. Together, they sorted through images and sketched ideas. The rural character felt right for a culture that celebrates freedom, independence, and the belief that everyone has an important role. In the end, a true gathering place was developed, one that welcomes residents, guests, family and the church that is now worshiping at Benjamin’s Hope.
